Why was my genBSDF killed?

Dear Radiance experts,

Today, I ran genBSDF on a new computer. The program typically operates without issues under specific parameter settings, but I encountered an error when using certain parameter configurations. Please refer to the attached screenshot for more details.

I am uncertain about the cause of this error. Could it be related to my computer’s configuration? Here are the details of my system environment and Radiance version:

Environment: Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.4.0-19041-Microsoft x86_64)

Version: RADIANCE 5.4a 2023-05-21 LBNL (5.4.79ea6ab4f0)

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

Best regards,
Xuran

I suspect a memory overflow of some kind with the -c 40960 setting and 32 processes, but it’s difficult to say.

The “Device far behind Z==0 plane” warning should not be ignored. It means your device isn’t in the expected place for the simulation.
