View Daylighting Analysis Results by DAYSIM 3.1b (beta)

Dear All,

Despite multiple attempts, I'm unable to View Daylighting Analysis Results after import a project from Ecotect. When I click Analysis tab I only can view Zone description, Occupancy Profile, User Requirements and Behavior and Lighting and Shading Control System. Daysim I will not allow me to choose "View Daylighting Analysis Results" under the analysis pull down.

Thanks,
Urtza.

Dear all,
  I am working on a daylight simulation with pipeline:
  IGDB#optics6#window7.2#ecotect2011#radiance#daysim3.1
  Wanted to correct the suggested lines in the Daysim generated *.da file before feeding back into ecotect.
    Is that the way the edited file should look like?
   # UDI_100-2000 - Static Shading # sensor_file_info 0 0 0 0
  8.937460 3.357410 0.850000 53 7.818620 3.555310 0.850000 51 10.334970 3.110880 0.850000 68 12.336220 6.915090 0.850000 57
  Sadly,the sensor points are rotated from Ecotect into Daysim. How do I rotate them back when I return data to Ecotect or is this process automated?
Kind Regards,
var m3_u = (location.protocol==‘https:’?‘https://a.abv.bg/www/delivery/ajs.php’:'http://a.abv.bg/www/delivery/ajs.php’); var m3_r = Math.floor(Math.random()*99999999999); if (!document.MAX_used) document.MAX_used = ‘,’; document.write (" "); Niya

Hello Thomas,
  Ecotect does assign values per point if the point is assigned as a sensor. The issue is that I am not using on purpose a grid but an irregular cloud of points. Hence, it is drawing a problem for recognizing them back after reimporting.

    I'm not sure about the format of the *.da file but with regards to your second question I think that Ecotect expects the results in a separate file without any coordinates, one value per line. It will then assign the values based to a calculation grid based on the sequence of the values in the results file. I don't have Ecotect around so you should verify this first before you rely on it in your workflow.

Hello Urtza,If you want to view the results obtained in DAYSIM in Ecotect, you have to edit the Analysis Grid and import there the *.DA files you want to view. You know, go to "Manage Grid Data" at the Grid Management panel to import/export those data.Probably you'll see that your results seem to be displaced. To solve this, before importing the *.DA files, you must open the files with notepad (or a similar software) and delete the second row, corresponding with the coordinates of every sensor at the Analysis Grid, and left that row in blanck.Ihope you'll find this information useful.Regards,Paula M.
