Validation study of electric lighting simulation in Radiance

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for validation studies of electric lighting simulation in Radiance, i.e. based on a comparison between simulated and measured luminance/illuminance.

I have found several “validation” studies for daylighting simulation (eg the one in John’s thesis), but except from one study conducted by K. Houser (“Toward the Accuracy of Lighting Simulations in Physically Based Computer Graphics Software”), I can’t find any regarding electric lighting…

Any idea?

Thank you!

While might be more recent studies published in journals, I think Anat Grynberg’s report from 1989 will qualify as a validation study. I guess this report predates the ies2rad translator, but most of the other Radiance programs mentioned in the report are still in use.
