ubuntu

A student of mine showed me ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com), a free Linux-based operating system. He installed it on a windows laptop. Radiance ran flawless, and X11 worked fine.

Install Ubuntu linux on top of Microsoft Virtuap PC (freeware too) program
on Windows and install Radiance on it. If you connect one of your windows
drive to your Ubuntu through network, you can use files from both the
operating systems.

Cheers,
Ramana.
