It ocurrs when any radiance programs(ie rpict, oconv) goes over <> 500 mb of ram and crashes with Segmentation fault , here is the stack trace

Hi Ignacio,

Cygwin, and these are unrelated to Radiance (other than the fact that Radiance uses a lot of memory). A backtrace isn't much help in this case, I'm afraid, as it is not a problem with the program, but with the system under which it is operating.

Thanks greg, i'd prefer unix too, but all clients work with autocad...
I've calculated it with other computer and here are the results
http://www.aisarquitectura.com/todofinv3.jpg , each of those trees are 40mb
instances, radiance is amazing but it's a little hard working with colors
and textures in a text editor,
Ignacio

Hi Ignacio,

From my experience, there are memory problems associated with
Cygwin, and these are unrelated to Radiance (other than the fact that
Radiance uses a lot of memory). A backtrace isn't much help in this
case, I'm afraid, as it is not a problem with the program, but with

I had radiance running fine under Cygwin/W2000 for over a year, but recently it stopped working. Never did figure out what the problem was but it still works fine under XP. With most of the binaries now available under windows, you might be able to use them instead. Unfortunately I don't think the visual binaries are available for some reason.

Mark

Thanks Mark, i've tried the rpict windows binary and it works fine, and i dont need the visual binaries because i only use the server for calculations
