Radzilla rzoconv error

I'm having problems with rzoconv..
type this command
rzoconv averyprobe.rad thomstuff.rad > avery.zoct
I get this error
command line error at '-ocnv'
does that indicate anything?

I tried DL and compiling version 1.0 and got some errors
I could send or post them, but I'm not sure where to begin.
I'm using ver 3.7a of classic Radiance

Odd thing is I'm able to render a zoct that I created a few months ago -
with ver 0.8

Thanks
Rob Fitz

Subject: [Radzilla] sneak preview - radzilla 1.0

Hi all,

with some months delay I finally managed to put together a 1.0 release.

There is a lot of new stuff to check out, e.g full compatibility to
classic Radiance, a new source partitioning scheme and some new
modifer/material primitives.

Certainly there are still some bugs to fix, so be prepared. This is why
I first announce it on this list only, for the adventurous folks. When
mostly the stuff shows to work as it should, I'll post a message on
radiance-general, too.

The link is as usual:

Have fun !!

Carsten

Hi Rob,

does that indicate anything?

I tried DL and compiling version 1.0 and got some errors

yeah, that indeed indicates a lot. Obviously only rzoconv got compiled
form the 1.0b version,
the rest didn't. That also explains while you still can render your zoct
from version 0.8, 'cause it's
still rzpict from version 0.8 which does it.

Ok, it still sounds a bit cryptic, but not anymore after the following
explanation: In principle, from version 1.0
onwards rzoconv doesn't really exist anymore as a separate program. What
gets compiled is just a simple referrer,
which actually calls rzpict with that ominous hidden -ocnv option. And
as you still have the old rzpict, this of
course doesn't know what to do with it..

So far I know only of two problems concerning compiling on MACOSX ,
thanks to Giulio I've been able to check them on his MAC
recently. I've uploaded a new version (-data 18 Jun 2005) now with these
fixes included.
(I hope that these are the same errors you got, if not you might send me
the compiler output, so that I can
try to figure out what's wrong... )
Anyway, MAC users just may try out the new version..

Additionally, a bug in the mesh code was fixed, which caused modifiers
in a mesh declaration to be ignored, and some other
minor changes were done. Linux users whose version is running and who
can live with the mesh bug may also wait a while, as
there will be some further new stuff soon .

-Carsten

PS sorry for the inconvenience, due to lack of time I didn't put
together a separate update package for these changes..just
grab the whole thing again. Maybe one day in the far future I'll find
the time to set up a CVS...

Thanks
I'll give it another go
