I use radout... a better torad. Works great.
It can be downloaded from the rayfront website.

Radout, while vastly superior to TORAD, don't work none with AutoCAD 2004+. Just FYI. TORAD don't work, really, either, but it will make RAD files (it just won't listen to option settings). And DXF2RAD, well, the models I make in Revit seem to be either too much (lots and lots of data) or dxf2rad doesn't like 2000 or 2004 DXF formats, for it just crashes out when I try to run it under Windows. I haven't tried it under Linux in a while, but I seem to remember it acting the same way.
So, for now, it's Revit -> Autocad -> messing with layers and such -> TORAD -> Radiance.
and I'm trying to make something that will allow Revit -> (insert new tool here) -> Radiance.

Dear,
I download Desktop Radiance 2.0 Beta (For educational purpose) to use it as
a plugin for Autodesk Ecotect 2011
I faced a difficulty in installation, it asked me which software that i'm
going to use it for (there was no option for ecotect), I wasnt sure what to
pick so I picked Autocad 2000 (is this the right selection?). ),I installed
it and located RAD.exe, and I started the radiance calculation on a small
room.
The problem now I got a Window with a black background that says:
Eco2rad: Deleting Ambient and Octree Files...
Eco2rad: Running radiance to generate views...
Eco2rad: Setting up environment Variables...
Eco2rad: Deleting Ambient and Octree Files...
Eco2rad: Running radiance to generate views...
Eco2rad: Setting up environment Variables...
Eco2rad: Deleting Ambient and Octree Files...
Eco2rad: Running radiance to generate views...
Eco2rad: Setting up environment Variables...
Eco2rad: Deleting Ambient and Octree Files...
Eco2rad: Running radiance to generate views...
Eco2rad: Setting up environment Variables...
And it keeps running, does this process usually take a long time (2 hours
until now), or there is a problem with the installation??
I tried to Uninstall Desktop radiance and re-install it again, but it wont
uninstall.
Can you please assist me with that?
Regards,
Hatim
This software is no longer supported as far as I know. The site should probably be taken down....
