I've looked through past posts but can't determine if this has been
resolved: Is it possible to utilize .mtl files with .obj files in obj2rad
or any other conversion for radiance?

Hi David,

There is no real equivalency between Wavefront materials and Radiance,
hence no translator for these. You can reassign materials based on groups
and materials using obj2rad, but you need to create the Radiance materials
yourself or get them from a suitable library.

Best,
-Greg
