Radiance-general Digest, Vol 112, Issue 9

hallo Greg,
Hallo Michael,
Hallo jan,

Thank you for your responses, but still not sure how to proceed...

this is what i get when i type evalglare -h, i didn't know how to insert
the viewfile in a hdr picture :frowning: ...

Last login: Thu Sep 12 10:39:52 on ttys000
nassif:~ nassifnassif$ cd Desktop/
nassif:Desktop nassifnassif$ evalglare -v

nassif:Desktop nassifnassif$ evalglare -h
Usage: evalglare [-s][-d][-c picture][-t xpos ypos angle] [-T xpos ypos
angle] [-b fact] [-r angle] [-y] [-Y lum] [-i Ev] [-I Ev ymax ymin] [-v]
picfile
nassif:Desktop nassifnassif$

in release notes *(from documentation_v1.0x.pdf)* , it says that:

evalglare [-s] [-y] [-Y value] [-a age] [-b factor] [-c checkfile] [-t xpos
ypos angle] [-T xpos ypos angle]

I mean the -vf viewfile...ist not included in the latest version, if it is,
once again, how can i include or fix it?

P.s: if anyone doesn't have problem to help me further, i can send one of
my hdr picture that i took on site....

Thank you all in advance!,

Hi Nassif,

Radiance includes a script called "vinfo" that allows you to edit the
information header of an image. I'm not sure what view parameters
evalglare needs from the header, but at minimum, you should include the -vh
and -vv parameters in a "VIEW= -vtv -vh [deg] -vh [deg]" specification.
Photosphere sometimes adds such a line if it can figure out the camera
lens settings from the Exif header.

No need to upgrade your Mac OS version if you're having issues with
evalglare. I don't think that has anything to do with it. More likely,
you don't have the latest version of it. Maybe Jan can chime in with some
advice.

Best,
-Greg

to check which version of evalglare you have, type evalglare -v in the
terminal.

I upgraded a few weeks ago to version 1.11 release 17.01.2013, which I
believe is the most current.

Hi Nassif,

it might be that the "usage output" of evalglare is not up date. Definitely you can use the -vf option. You just need a valid view file.
Have you tried?
You don't have to change your header of your HDR image, this is a command line option.

Or you specify directly -vt/t/ ,-vh and -vv .

Nassif,

I have mac 10.6.8, and I have used photosphere and evalglare on my machine
with no problems. I work with option -vta in evalglare to specify view. I
will be happy to look at your HDR image. But before that, are sure you have
installed evalglare in the right location on you mac?

Photosphere sometimes adds such a line if it can figure out the camera
lens settings from the Exif header.

Leyla,

just to be sure: if you use the -vta option in evalglare you have to specify also the -vv and -vh option at the same time.

        Hi Nassif,

Radiance includes a script called "vinfo" that allows you to
edit the information header of an image. I'm not sure what
view parameters evalglare needs from the header, but at
minimum, you should include the -vh and -vv parameters in a
"VIEW= -vtv -vh [deg] -vh [deg]" specification. Photosphere
sometimes adds such a line if it can figure out the camera
lens settings from the Exif header.

No need to upgrade your Mac OS version if you're having issues
with evalglare. I don't think that has anything to do with
it. More likely, you don't have the latest version of it.
Maybe Jan can chime in with some advice.

        Best,
        -Greg

to check which version of evalglare you have, type evalglare -v in the
terminal.

I upgraded a few weeks ago to version 1.11 release 17.01.2013, which I
believe is the most current.
