This one could be due to me having few weeks old
tarball, but I can not get X_OK to be defined in
win_popen.c without adding:
#include "paths.h"
which defines X_OK.

Yes that's true, thanks for the pointer.
Win_popen.c is actully still a bit experimental. If anyone finds
more problems with it, I'd be happy to hear about them.
Especially mode "w" isn't very well tested.
