Installing radiance and daysim

Hello,

I would like to know how to perform the installation of both radiance and daysim softwares. I could download the binary files for each software, however I'm not able to use them since they are not in a friendly format and I'm not really sure about what to do with those files. I assume that I need another software that works as an interface but I'm not really strong/sure on how to do it. I'm developing a building project with trnsys and I will really appreciate your help.

Best regards,

Marcel

Ps: I don't know if what I'm asking is really stupid or not...I'm not really a computer geek

Hi Marcel,

There are a number of graphical user interface that you can use for Radiance and Daysim. An example tool that provides introductory tutorials and supports daylight availability and glare analysis is DIVA-for-Rhino (http://diva4rhino.com/).

Christoph

Marcel:

It's impossible to know what solution would be best for you since you don't divulge much about what you are trying to do, but other tools you may want to look at are:

OpenStudio: http://openstudio.nrel.gov
Ladybug & Honeybee: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/ladybug
SPOT: http://www.daylightinginnovations.com/spot-home
