direct = direct normal irradiance in W/m2 due to the sun over total spectrum = beam radiation = solar radiation form the direction of the sun, and NOT on a horizontal surface - correct?

Hi Martin,
yes, that's correct. But the diffuse irradiance (also full spectrum) is used on an horizontal plane.
