I'm trying to translate an rtrace produced series of values into a physical contour. Basically I would like to bring my DF contour of 2% into my CAD model so that I can physically show the contour in a 3D model. Can anyone give me any pointers please?

If you're familiar with gnuplot you should be able to import the rtrace
values as point cloud, create contours and export as dxf. There are
other data visualizers around like MayaVi or OpenDX that allow you
to import points and export lines in DXF. It depends on the time you
want to spend to learn one of these tools.
And then you've always the option to interpolate the values to find
the locations of points on the 2% line and draw the line by hand.
