su2rad - assign material to layer

Dear expert,

I am trying to export 'by layer' and assign to each layer its material with
su2rad_v1.0. I have understood that there is a bug in the code and I tried
to follow the procedure in this discussion
http://radiance-general.radiance-online.narkive.com/kKC0HCmV/su2rad-rb-update-of-the-sketchup-to-radiance-converter
but without success.

This is what I have done:

- Add my materials in the materials.rad file in the su2rad folder of
Sketchup’s plugins

- Name the layer in Sketchup with the identifier of the material

Something changed in the “su2rad export window”, since the layer/material
are displayed no more yellowish-brown but blue. However, the materials.rad
file exported contains again the “default_material” for each material.

Any advice? Thank you in advance.

Best,

Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe

Thanks for reporting this problem. The 1.0 version (I assume it's
"1.0alpha") is a bit old and some issues might have been fixed in more
recent updates. Please try to download the latest release from this Dropbox
link:

I am currently migrating my projects to GitHub as Google Code is shutting
down project hosting. The source code is already migrated but I still need
to update my upload scripts and create a new documentation page. I hope to
complete the migration shortly and will disable the old code.google.com
page to avoid any confusion.

Please report new issues via the GitHub repository bug tracker:

(I just noticed that a new issue has been reported there but I never got a
notification. Still requires some fine tuning.).

Anyway, I hope your issue is fixed in the 2014 release. If not, let me know
and I'll review the code.

Regards,
Thomas

Thomas,

thank you for the prompt answer. In fact, I didn't know about the GitHub
repository and I wrote my problem in the issues section of Google, sorry!

Going back to the topic, with the last version all works fine, thank you
again.

Best,
Giuseppe
