strange behaviour, may be only radiance or macosx?

Hi all,
I am just came back from holidays, done some upgrades....
found a really weird thing about Radiance 3.6.a
(on both a G5 and G4 system, macosX 10.3.5).
(3.5 and 3.5 with pmap work perfectly...)

I compiled it with default setting (and also with optimized code, today
version)
the result is always the same.

symptoms:

my scene contains a sphere that emits light.
this sphere is inside a big plastic sphere.
the surface of the big sphere is white.
what happens is that the inner surface of the big sphere is non lit.

I suspect two things:

1 - somebody changed the code and now inside of spheres is always black
(some sort of optimisation?)

2 - there has been a radiance killer upgrade in the system, I hope not....
this means reinstalling the system!

what do you think about?
thanks,
giulio

PS
the scene looks like this, for whom could be interested to try:

void light bulb
0
0
3 100 100 100

bulb sphere geom
0
0
4 0 0 0 .1

void plastic white
0
0
5 1 1 1 0 0

white sphere bigball
0
0
4 0 0 0 10

the view point is something like -1 -1 -1 looking 1 1 1 with a -h view type
and 180 180 degree.
