rshow

I am trying to generate animation paths for use in Radiance (ranimate) with
rshow. I understand that there is a camera option but the only information
that I can find on using the camera is a command option "-kr file" with the
explanation "know file (camera animation). What is a know file?

Ops, that should read 'knot' file, containing the spline parameters. The
pre-1998 rshow, running only on IRIX-GL, had the animation spline
feature, but I haven't come around to add it back into the new Open-GL
rshow.
Meanwhile, one way would be to use rshow for writing a series of view
files and do the interpolation externally.

After trying to run rshow with a 70MB octree created in Radiance, rshow
failed with the following message: "out of tree space memory in gettree". A
smaller octree of an order of magnitude smaller posed no problem for rshow.
A processor on our SGI system has a 1 GB of memory. Is this a problem we can
fix or does it require a change in gettree?

The Open-GL rshow is quite memory hungry (using Open-GL display lists)
but 70MB on 1GB machine should be expected to run. Any images/instances
loaded with the main octree ? What does 'top' or 'grosview' say while
rshow starts up ?

Hi Peter,

I ran rshow with top running in another window and found that the maximum current
memory usage (RES) was 140MB and the total size of the process (SIZE) was 162MB.

How's the maximum per-user or per-process kernel limit for the process
size configured on your IRIX ?
