Online availability of conference CD-ROM?

Question for the 2003 Radiance Workshop attendees (hi everyone!):

Last year, the workshop CD was made available online as an iso image for anyone who wanted it. Will we be doing that again this year? I vote yes; Peter, is there room/bandwidth available on radiance-online.org? Reason I ask is that I'm writing a little report on the Workshop for my friend's computer graphics website, and I'd like to mention whether this is available (as I did last year). I recall everyone voted on it last year, at the workshop. Maybe we could reach an e-consensus here? Let me know.

In the words of Emily Litella, "never mind". =8-)

Thanks Peter!

Vote YES!!!! for ISO image for 2003 Radiance Workshop CDROM to be available
online.

Many of the readers of the valuable Radiance On-line forum were
unfortunately not able to attend the workshop. I for one would like to keep
a copy of the CDROM so that I can view/read the material whilst
off-line/remote from the internet.

On another issue, I see new prints of the Rendering with Radiance book were
being distributed to the participants of the workshop. Are there any plans
for a reprint being made for wider distribution?

Hi Terrance,

The CD-ROM is already available on the site; they beat me to it, no vote required! =8-)

They actually never got the books, there was some mixup with the printer. They are looking for a new one. Greg can give you better details, but I'm quite certain that once they have a solid setup with a print on demand publisher, anyone will be able to order a copy.

I can find the CD contents at
http://www.radiance-online.org/radiance-workshop2/cd/ but not the link to
the iso image.

Thanks for the update on the book.

Hi Terry,

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be an iso image, but all the stuff is there for downloading. A bit more tedious, but still doable. Perhaps the iso image was not posted due to a diskspace or bandwidth issue?

I suppose we should appeal to Peter A-B to make the ISO image of the CD available online. I don't know if there are bandwidth issues -- Peter?

For my part, I have put some snapshots from the workshop up on my website, for those who are interested. The URL is:

  http://www.anyhere.com/gward/snaps/workshops/radiance03.html

Also, for those who downloaded Photosphere recently and are experiencing crashes, there is a new version that fixes this problem also on my website:

  http://www.anyhere.com/gward/pickup/photosphere.tar.gz

The command-line tool for building HDR images is also available, but I have only compiled it on the Mac for the moment. I should get around to compiling it under Linux "real soon now". (Photosphere won't be available on other platforms until someone volunteers to rewrite the GUI.)

Cheers,

Yeap. the ISO image (bzip2-ed compressed to save bandwidth) had been on my todo list once I got back from the workshop (yesterday, due to a two week holiday)
Expect it to appear on the website later today.
