illum maximum radius for shadow testing?

Hi all,

Can the illum primitive be set to a maximum radius for shadow testing (like
the spotlight primitive) ?

My best,

Iebele

The short answer is 'no,' the reason being that you only need to turn an object into an "illum" if its contribution is significant, which is the opposite of the reason you would want to turn something into a "glow." If its influence is local, then treating it as whatever it is in the default calculation (using "glow" with an effective distance of 0) should work fine in the ambient calculation. Naturally, there are cases where it doesn't quite.

Best,
