development projects are pretty fast and loose with their "daily
snapshots" but if the radiance team keeps a tight lid on the condition of
theirs then it would be good to somehow make this more clear to users so they feel more comfortable giving it a go
"experimental" got changed to "pre-release" on the web page, as the HEAD version has turned out to be much more a bugfix than exotic experiment.
