Dear Radiance users,
is there by any chance somebody on the list who has experiences with using HDRShop under Windows Vista. I have an HDRShop 2.0 license for academic purposes and I havetried to install it on my new Windows Vista machine. No luck. I get an error message from Microsoft Foundation Class ... I have tried to contact the USC people behind HDRShop, but so far no response. Then I thought "hey, maybe some of the Radiance users know something ..."
Best,
Claus
Hi Claus,
If HDRshop is built on MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) then it will need
at least one DLL to run (MFC42.dll), which is perhaps missing from Vista?
Other MFC DLLs my also be required.
You should be able to download these from Mircosoft.
Thanks,

Hi Glen,
thanks ... but, alas. The MFC dll's are all there as far as I can tell. I guess HDRShop needs a recompilation (what I got from USC was basically an executable).
Cheers, and Merry Christmas

Hi Claus,
Another thing to try is running HDRShop under a selected compatibility mode in Vista. I was able to get my ancient windows 95 version of the Lego Mindstorm software running on Vista this way. It was a bit laborious, I had to go find all the relevant executables and then set the compatibility mode to windows 95 (via properties on the selected exe file). I think there is also something called the compatibility wizard, you can search the help for this, not sure how it works though.
Hope this helps.
