Hello Everyone,

I am involved in the simulations of interior Venetian blinds in a 10’ wide, 18’ long and 10’ high

office room with one 6 ’ by 6 ’ window placed on the south oriented wall. The window sill height is 3’.

Below are the illuminance values that i obtained for the four reference(sensor) points at 1, 2 ,3 and 4 meters from the window.

For open blinds

From above we can observe that the illuminance value is 1000 lux + for the sensor point closest to the window, when the blinds are closed. Are these realistic values…?

There seems to be problem with glare Index. When the blinds are totally open(0 degrees) the glare index was observed to be
zero. As the blinds were closed, the Glare Index seems to Increasing. the glare index is highest for closed blinds 22. For

45 degrees the glare Index is around 14 for 45 degrees. These results seem to be strange.

I am attaching all the files along with the script for Illuminance calculations and glare Index calculations. newglares.csh is the file name for the glare script and finalmultiplesim1.csh is the shell script used for illuminance calculations.

I just want to make sure that the scripts used are correct … ?
