genskyvec

Dear Everyone,

I want to create the average radiance Tregenza 145 patches for certain sky model. So far, I know it is possible using genskyvec. The question is, is it possible to use genskyvec to compute average radiances for a user defined sky model. Better to say, is it possible to pass a sky rad file to genskyvec?

Cheers, Ehsan

Hi Ehsan,

You can indeed feed genskyvec a different sky, within certain parameters. It understands the output of both gensky and gendaylit, for example.

Basically, you need to follow the basic form of the sky file, with a sun source (if appropriate) and a modifier named "skyfunc" with the desired distribution.

Hope this helps.

Dear Greg,

Definitely helped. below is the command I used, thought interesting for
others:

genskyvec -m 1 -c 1 1 1 < skymodel.rad > patch_radiance_file.dat

Thanks a lot,
Ehsan
