Direct, diffuse and reflected light

I have been working through the tutorials of A. Jacobs and some of the
tutorials in Rendering with Radiance, but I have not come across a text
describing how to obtain the different contributions to the total
illuminance on a surface. I would like to hear how I can obtain the direct,
diffuse and reflected component of the illuminance? Do I have to find the
parameters in the source code, or is there someone who has made it easy for
me and created a command for this (my fingers are crossed)?

In advance – I would like to say thank you for any respond to this query…

I would simply do so:
A) -ab 0 and sun -> direct from sun only
B) -ab 1 and no sun-> direct from sky only

C) -ab n>1 and no sky -> subtract case A, is reflected after sunlight only
D) -ab n>1 and no sun -> subtract case B, is reflected after sky only

performing the difference of the various analyses you can get the various values.

alternatively you can use rtcontrib and get the contribution of illuminance coming from a particular surface modifier...
sunlight
skylight
walls
....
It is not that difficult.

Also try to see if there is something about this here:

I think there should be a mini tutorial with some tricks...
hope it helps
